PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

2008 GALA DINNER RAISES FUNDS FOR LEUKEMIA, LYMPHOMA, MYELOMA AND MYELODYSPLASIA RESEARCH

All are invited to enjoy an evening of fun and entertainment in support of the Canadian Leukemia Studies Group (CLSG) which was founded and is still headed by D. Richard Van der Jagt at the Ottawa Hospital . The CLSG research team is developing and enhancing therapies together with collaborating colleagues in the CLSG from across Canada . Dr. Van der Jagt and his colleagues do research in hematological illnesses such as leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma and myelodysplasia with the hope of improving therapy for these dreaded diseases. Dr. and Mrs. Van der Jagt will be on hand to celebrate the community’s involvement in this event, which has been endorsed by The Ottawa Hospital Foundation.

The evening includes dinner and live entertainment from well-known performer Daniel Richer, who has an international reputation as a master town crier, performer and actor. Guests are sure to enjoy his traditional costumes and spirited performance, as well as an auctioneer.  Artist gilda pontbriand will be present to donate one of her paintings for this fundraising.

Art exhibits, silent and life auction, etc. are part of this great evening. 

We all know someone affected by cancer, and this event provides an opportunity for those attending and contributing to make a difference.
